An interceptor can be configured at install time and at runtime. Install time configuration is the initial configuration for the interceptor, which can be further modified after the interceptor is registered. An interceptor can be configured in it's active and stopped states.

Initial install time configuration for the interceptor is defined in a configuration properties file, which is packaged with the interceptor bundle, i.e the META-INF/interceptor//interceptor.properties file. Details on generating this file are provided in (1) below. Once the interceptor is registered, it can be configured at runtime, (2) and (3) provide details on the runtime configuration.
