How do I enable Alerting for Glassfish ESB 2.1
To enable alerting in Glassfish ESB 2.1, you need the following:
- The backend implementation to forward the alerts is already available in the JBI runtime
- The backend web application implementation (eventmanagement-webapp) code that does reverse-ajax to push alerts to subscribed clients can be built from esb-console/extended/alerts/eventmanagement-webapp. This webapp needs to be packaged (and deployed in the asadmin realm) in GF ESB (and hidden from admin console view) installation.
- The client side alerts API can be built from esb-console/extended/api/extended.management.api.alerts. This api has to be distributed along with other management client APIs in esb-console/extended/api/ as part of GF ESB installation.
It is always better to Checkout and Build
from scratch. However, if you want to try out the Alerting in Glassfish ESB 2.1 without having to build it from scratch, I will infrequently upload a jar file at my convenience
that you can download from here alert-client-installer.jar
that you can deploy on your Glassfish server and test according to instructions mentioned below:
Step 1: - Download and extract the Alert Client installer
Extract the jar into a directory of your choice:
jar -xvf alert-client-installer.jar
The contents are expanded to an alerts folder which has an installer folder that contains the eventmanagement-webapp installation, and a client folder that contains the Alert Client Sample.
